International quality mark for paint stripping
QUALISTRIP (International Quality Association for industrial paint stripping of metals and plastics) stands for controlled, high-quality and quality-assured paint stripping of metal, plastic, wood and other materials. The purpose of the international quality mark is to ensure the quality of the paint stripping process and the paint stripping agents used – for the peace of mind of users, coaters, paint strippers and customers.
Due to globalisation, there is an increasing international demand for quality-assured paint stripping in accordance with QUALISTRIP standards. Particularly in the automotive, aerospace and mechanical engineering sectors, paint stripping in accordance with QUALISTRIP test specifications is necessary for metals – but also for other materials such as steel, plastic and wood – in order to preserve the material and to proceed in an environmentally conscious and sustainable manner.
The Association for the Surface Finishing of Aluminium (VOA) is the owner of the international QUALISTRIP quality mark.
Advantages of a QUALISTRIP licence:
- Companies with a QUALISTRIP licence are part of an international network with global supply chains
- Clearly defined, internationally recognised testing and quality regulations that correspond to the latest findings from science and research
- Compliance with the regulations based on self-monitoring and unannounced inspections of production facilities, processes and materials by independent, accredited testing institutes
- Sustainability: Faulty coated components and auxiliary tools are recycled through paint stripping and returned to the material cycle
The prerequisite for the award of the QUALISTRIP quality mark is the implementation of the testing process in accordance with the current testing and quality regulations and recognition by the VOA. If a company cannot be tested, a non-auditability report must be submitted to the office within the specified period. Paint stripping companies and manufacturers of paint stripping agents receive a temporary licence.
